Witch Hunter was born in 1680...and 1976. My earliest influences were the films The Devil's Rain, The Omega Man and the original Planet of the Apes. On the written side, A Canticle for Leibowitz and The Catcher in the Rye added voices to the ones that were already in my head wondering how much more ridiculous reality could get and how many people would notice if it did. Witch Hunter developed into an irreverent character set against a dark landscape over the next few years. Time passed. I think.
I began to intensify my development of Witch Hunter in writing workshops throughout college. The darkness got seasoned with sarcasm and more irreverence as my interests expanded to include The Doors, early M*A*S*H episodes, Soap, Monty Python, Fletch and other sources that didn't take life, authority or themselves too seriously. I continued to flesh out the world Witch Hunter called home, which looked a lot like where I was living.
1994 saw the beginning of a Witch Hunter comic strip serial in a comic book trade magazine called Comic Culture, which he continued to be seen in until the magazine ceased publication about a year later. A Witch Hunter Ashcan Edition has also been on sale at comic book conventions.
Witch Hunter now has the help of a larger staff to chronicle his adventures. If you believe in magic, believe that anything is possible and that you have the power to make anything happen, you transform your world into one of wonder. If you don't...well, they'll be someone else who'll make you live their dream, or else. That's what Witch Hunter is about... in a way. Read his ongoing comic book adventures and find out the rest... mostly.
